Only at Abilities Expo will you be able to spend hours on the exhibit floor, testing and comparing products and services offered by state of the art exhibitors. Abilities Expo also offers a full line up of FREE consumer and professional workshops, offered by leading individuals in the healthcare, education, and retail fields.

SPECIAL FEATURES at METRO DETROIT:
* TOTALLY NEW! Abilities Expo and show sponsor, Active Living Magazine (www.activelivingmagazine.com), are collaborating to create, "The Great Outdoors Pavilion" inside the show. This pavilion will be showcasing accessible outdoor activities & equipment (summer and winter) proving that there is nothing that can limit those that want to achieve it inside and out. While visiting the pavilion, taking a look at what Active Living Magazine as to offer and register to WIN a FREE Accessible Tent donated by the magazine. One will be given away at all the shows in 2006.
* Show sponsor, Michigan Adaptive Sports (www.michiganadaptivesports.org), will also have a booth, located by the special events area, highlighting some of their equipment, and discussing the "Sports-tacular V" hosted by Dearborn Parks and Recreations. Come meet some wonderful individuals from the Athletes with Disabilities Hall of Fame: Chet Kuskowski two time US Disabled Water Ski team participant and world record winner (talk and videos); Ann Manning ranked 2nd in the USA Women's B Tennis division (talks and demonstrating wheelchair tennis); Mary Stack who at 5'2", is the leading US Paralympic Powerlifter and took 6th place in Busan, South Korea (talk and powerlifting demonstration).

Covering the expo, TV personality, Roger McCarville (www.disabilitiestoday.com). Roger broadcasts the television show, Disabilities Today sponsored by Wright & Filippis, on PBS. Check out the website for local stations and broadcasting times.
Meet with 59 year old award -winning columnist and reporter who worked for The Oakland Press, Wolfe, and talk to him about his experiences. His column, "Voices of Disability" started in 1999 and has won several awards for his writing as well as awards from the federal government for his part in helping implement the Americans with Disabilities Act. These accomplishments are just a small portion of what he has done for the fight within the disabled community.
* In Association with Blaze Magazine, we are also pleased to announce the participation of Theraputic Ponies. The cutest, coolest things in therapy ever.
* Sponsored by Michigan Sports Unlimited, rugby and soccer demos will take place in the special events area. Schedule TBD.
